Iran’s Leader Breaks Weeks of Silence to Warn Against US Escalation

by admin477351

Iran’s Supreme Leader made his first televised appearance following weeks of military confrontation, showing visible signs of strain from the crisis. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei appeared notably frail and spoke with a hoarse voice, reflecting the impact of the prolonged conflict.
The 86-year-old leader disputed President Trump’s assertions about completely destroying Iran’s nuclear capabilities, though international inspectors confirmed extensive damage. Nuclear watchdog officials described the destruction as considerable, potentially setting back Iranian atomic development by several years.
Khamenei highlighted Iran’s attack on American forces in Qatar as demonstration of his country’s ability to strike back despite the devastation. He characterized this action as successful retaliation and warning against further US escalation in the region.
The implementation of the ceasefire has provided both countries with breathing room while they maintain their confrontational positions. Iran has begun normalizing operations, including partial airspace reopening and restoration of commercial activities, while facing the enormous task of rebuilding its nuclear infrastructure.
